The Xbox Live service of Microsoft was updated recently by the company which improved its appearance and added a good volume of live programming for the service. Around 30,000 coupon codes were released by Microsoft in order to promote the update for the Xbox Live service. These coupon codes allowed users to watch the UFC 141 match of the Ultimate Fighting Championship which featured the return of MMA superstar Brock Lesnar.
However it appeared that the Xbox Live service was not able to handle the load. Reports revealed that a number of users noted that the app of the Xbox Live for the UFC was not able to handle the load. Other users also noted that the app of the Xbox Live for the UFC crashed number of times while others revealed that the Xbox Live app was reset to an earlier part of the match and did not allow any fast-forward function.
The report also revealed that some users were able to view the fight on the Xbox Live service although the images reportedly switched from standard definition to high definition. Sometimes the image would appear as if Vaseline was placed all over the television screen.
Even as the issue was acknowledged by Microsoft, there was a lack of information on the reason behind the problem that affected the Xbox Live application during the airing of the event. The company indicated that a number of technical issues emerged which affected the application a few hours prior to the airing of the UFC event.
The company also indicated that there is still much room for improvement even though it was able to restore the service to a number of users while the UFC event was being aired. Due to this, the company revealed that it plans to provide all of the 30,000 users of the Xbox Live app who registered to watch the UFC event access to another fight in the future free of charge.
