Unofficial Bootloader Unlock Procedure for HTC One X Emerges

The bootloader unlock tool for the HTC One X has yet to be released by HTC (TPE:2498), which resulted to speculations that the official bootloader may not be released. Although the official bootloader for the HTC One X remains unreleased, reports have indicated that a bootloader unlock process for the device is reportedly already available. A member of the XDA developers forum reportedly released a method unlocking the bootloader of the HTC One X of AT&T (NYSE:T).

According to the user, the AT&T version of the device was tricked into thinking that it was the Rogers version of the HTC One X, which has an unlocked bootloader.

However it will not be easy to use the method so it may be necessary to be careful for users who are not quite adept in command line commands. It will also be necessary to root the HTC One X before its bootloader is unlocked.

Everything should be wiped from the device, which will make it necessary to back up the data before starting the unlock process of the bootloader. The unlock process may also result to damaging the device itself so it is important for the users to be certain about their intention of unlocking the bootloader of the HTC One X.

Although the instructions will result to an unlocked bootloader on the HTC One X if it is followed properly, it is still necessary for user to proceed with care.

A hex editor will also be necessary in order for users to unlock the bootloader of the HTC One X. Users will also need ADB as well as the knowledge in  using it while the device should be rooted already. Once the procedure is followed, the bootloader of the HTC device should be unlocked and facilitate the installation of custom ROMs.

The recently-released procedure is the only method of unlocking the bootloader of the HTC One X of AT&T although some industry watchers are hoping for the release of the official procedure in unlocking the bootloader of the device.
