How you can get VERY rich during times of economic turmoil, even if you don't have a lot of money to invest...Watch the Video
TinyProj, a marketplace for projects established by Forrst' founder Kyle Bragger, is closing down. With its shut down, the 8,300 designers and developers who utilized the site's service to look for project-based jobs will be moved to Group Talent, a current TechStars grad.
Since October 2011, TinyProj and Group Talent have been creating marketplaces over the internet for jobs that are project-based. The aim of Group Talent is to help companies find quality competencies and skills by curating the level of accepted applicants and considering only the 20 percent of the pool of applicants
The chosen applicants are determined with the help of a filtering process that is manually reviewed and with the use of algorithms that put a rank on applicants according to open-source contributions.

Manuel Medina, CEO of Group Talent, says that the website services the increasing needs of new founders to generate extra income while they are still starting with their personal sites. He shares that most of their talent base consists of teams from bootstrapping startups.
He further shares that a lot of their talents are funded and many come from accelerator programs like YC, Techstarts and 500 Startups. There are also those that are just beginning.
Medina expects companies to eventually realize that the talent they are looking for is easy to find just as long as they will consider looking for more than just an employee that can work full time. Although many companies see talents as full time, there is a big and high demand from project-based jobs and technical skill. It seems that there are many available designers and developers who are highly skilled but they are only looking for project work instead of full time jobs.
The transition of TinyProj to GroupTalent has already been started by Bragger. Access of the list of projects in the platform of GroupTalent will be provided to the users. Budgets of the platform are currently amounting from $8,000 to $40,000.
Bragger believes that the transition will allow the users of TinyProj to benefit from the scale and momentum of GroupTalent. However, it will also give him a chance to center his efforts on Forrst, his design and dev community funded by 500 startups.
