Tiger Woods will be back in competitive golf after missing two major tournaments and will play in Akron, Ohio for the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Plagued by leg injuries, Tiger Woods had to withdraw after playing nine holes, from the Players Championships in May.
The golf legend has won this event seven times in the past and says he is excited to be back. Last year Tiger Woods was the first time he did make it into the first four at this event.
Tiger Woods will really have to gear up and play next week. His website says that he has just starting practicing on medical advice. Woods hurt the ligaments on his left knee and his tendon at the Masters tournament last April. He has not played competitive golf after he withdrew from of the Players in May.
Tiger Woods admitted that he has made an error in judgment in playing the Players Championships so close to injuring himself. He said that if he had not played then he would have been well enough to play the two major tournaments which followed soon after.
Tiger Woods has not tasted success at a major US gold tournament since 2008 or on the international front since 2009. He withdrew from the US Open mid June and from the British Open.
On his website, he says, that he has realized that he should not play unless he is completely fit. He says that he is getting better and more energized Tiger Woods already had four knee operations; however this time he could avoid that.
Woods has been industrious in his workouts and realizes that he has to keep at it to get completely fit. His leg is tested every day and there have been no setbacks so far.
For Tiger Woods it is not just trying to make a comeback to golf, on the personal front, he is also trying to pick up the pieces after his marriage broke up.
