The announcement will ease the apprehensions of some potential consumers on the release schedule of the HTC (TPE:2498) device, whose release was prevented by US Customs due to a patent dispute with Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL). Following this delay, the upcoming HTC EVO 4G LTE will finally be released into the hands of the customers of the mobile service provider.

This means that customers who had pre-ordered the upcoming smartphone will have to wait longer in order for them to receive their devices.
The availability of the HTC EVO 4G LTE in the market was delayed due to a dispute between Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) and HTC (TPE:2498) that resulted to the US Customs temporarily holding its release in the US market. Although this delay was beyond the control of Sprint (NYSE:S), the company was in an apologetic mood as it offered free casings for consumers who pre-ordered the upcoming HTC EVO 4G LTE.
Even as a patent dispute with Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has resulted to the delay in the release of the HTC EVO 4G LTE, an email was reportedly sent to customers who had pre-ordered the device giving them a release date for the device. The email indicated that the HTC EVO 4G LTE will be released by May 23.
