The Chromebook of Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) is set to receive the Google Drive service according to Danielle Drew, a member of the Chrome team, with the release of the latest Chrome OS version. The Google Drive was reportedly integrated into the version 20.0116.0 of the Chrome OS, which will integrate it into the online file sync service of Google. The cloud storage service of Google allows users to save files into different device as well as the servers of Google.

Following the launch of the Google Drive recently, one segment of the market did not appear to be too elated with the announcement, users of the Linux OS. They were likely displeased that the cloud storage system of Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) was not made available for them. The disappointment on the non-inclusion of Linux support for the Google Drive service went to level where one of the trending topics on Google+ was “#DriveforLinux”. This saw numerous users airing their concerns and disbelief.

Reports have indicated that the upcoming Google Drive will be launched in the coming week and it will provide 5GB of free online storage for every user of the service. The source of the report comes from a supposed draft release that came from a partner of the upcoming cloud storage service. The files stored on the Google Drive will reportedly be accessible through a browser although it can also work similar to the desktop client of the Dropbox service.
