The Samsung Galaxy SII with its many versions proved to be a successful device and the Epic Touch 4G, its Sprint version, was applauded as 2011's best new 4G mobile handset at the 4G World Conference and Expo. Despite the big hit of the original Epic Touch 4G in black, Samsung and Sprint tried to release a white model of the handset by Christmas 2011. Although Samsung did not make it to their target time, the Epic Touch 4G Android mobile phone opens the new year in its white color.

In terms of specs, the white Epic Touch 4G has a similar technical profile as the black one. It is also the same in its dimensions of 5.11 x 2.74 x 0.38 inches and its weight of 4.60 ounces. The White Epic Touch 4G Super AMOLED Plus screen measures 4.52 inches and is considered as one of the biggest in the smartphone market.

Its 206 pixels per inch density and 480 x 800 pixel resolution are provided to its capacitive multitouch screen and are displayed in 16 million shades. It has an on boardlight sensor that automatically adjusts in brightness and a built-in proximity sensor that puts off the device when it is not in use in order to extend battery life. Its 1800 mAH battery has a talk time of 8.70 hours and it performs way better than any other type of battery.

Its hardware consists of an Exynos microchip set that is made up of a 1.2 GHz dual core central processor and Mali 400 MP graphics processor. The size of its RAM memory and built in storage is 1.O GB and 16 GB respectively. It has MicroUSB and MicroSD slots on its board, Wi-fi and Bluetooth access for its wireless connectivity and DLNA technology for video out functions.

The 8.0 MP rear camcorder and 2.0 MP front chat cam Galaxy II is still present in the white version of the smartphone. The rear camera is for capturing 1080p HD videos and the front camera is used for video calls and recording of 720 HD resolution. Sprint WiMAx network exclusively offers the white Epic Touch 4G and is available on a 2-year activation period at a retail price of $99 in selected Sprint retailers beginning the 23rd of January.
