The iPhone 5 will reportedly be offered by Sprint together with Verizon (NYSE:VZ) and AT&T (NYSE:T) once it enters the market. Although no release schedule was announced by the company, observers have speculated an October release of the iPhone 5 of Apple.
Although there was no confirmation on the possible iPhone 5 offering of Sprint, the possibility of offering the device was discussed by Euteneuer.
On the speculations on the possibility of a tiered data plan and the removal of the unlimited data plans, Euteneuer indicated that the company has an excellent network although he did not discount the possibility that it may not be offered once the iPhone 5 is available in the market.
Euteneuer indicated that providing unlimited data plans will require proper network management and if the company will be in a situation that offering the unlimited data plan will not provide a cost-effective market for the company, it may have to consider change in the network.
An earlier statement by Dan Hesse, the chief executive of Sprint, indicated that unlimited data plans may not be offered all the time. The possibility of change in the offer of the unlimited data plan for the iPhone 5 by Sprint is possible. Both AT&T and Verizon are currently offering a tiered data plan for its subscribers.
Offering the iPhone 5 may affect the company according to Euteneuer due the increased subsidies that may be offered for the device although it will also help the company by enhancing its brand and lessen the turnover of its subscribers. He added that the advantages of offering the iPhone 5 are massive for the company.
