Sony LT291 Hayabusa, Possible Flagship Sony Smartphone

The Sony LT291 Hayabusa, an upcoming handset from Sony (NYSE:SNE) is reportedly set to become a first-class Android-powered device. The upcoming device will reportedly be introduced by the company by July and was initially included in a 2012 road map that was leaked earlier. The Sony LT291 Hayabusa is expected to have a price tag of $650 and it may become a flagship device for the company.

Reports have supposedly indicated that the upcoming device will be introduced sometime in summer. According to reports, the Sony LT291 Hayabusa will feature the Snapdragon S4 processor from Qualcomm, which will feature an enhanced graphics processing unit.

The upcoming device will use the latest version of the Android operating system of Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) or the Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 OS. The battery of the Sony LT291 Hayabusa is reportedly better than a good number of Android-powered devices that are currently being offered in the market at around 2200mAh.

Despite the notable specifications of the Sony LT291 Hayabusa, it will be using a case that is rather slim at around 7 millimeters.

The Sony LT291 Hayabusa will also come with a 720p HD display screen measuring 4.55 inches along with a thirteen-megapixel camera that has a high dynamic range video capability. This will be the biggest display screen and highest resolution for a camera on a Sony device.

Some industry watchers have wondered on the strategy of Sony on the availability and release schedule of the Sony LT291 Hayabusa. Some have speculated on a possible random release in different markets around the world while others have hinted at the possibility that the Sony LT291 Hayabusa will be released to a number of mobile service providers in each market.

According to reports the company will be introducing the Sony LT291 Hayabusa by June and it may be released into the market by July.
