The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 does not reportedly infringe on the design of the iPad according to a court in the Netherlands. This recent decision came after Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) attempted to have the sale of the tablet banned in the country. Last August, a similar request of Apple was also dismissed by a lower court at The Hague. The recent decision comes before another decision is set to be made in Germany on the ban that was originally imposed on the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
It may be possible for the ban on the Samsung Galaxy Tab to be removed, which would be another legal setback for Apple. Samsung found the decision on the Samsung Galaxy Tab appealing as it reportedly shows that the products of Apple may not necessitate the protection that it supposedly thinks it deserves.

No statements were released by Apple in connection to the latest decision on the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The latest legal debacle was the most recent development on the legal front as Apple has pursued a number of Android devices as it attempts to stop the increasing popularity of the Android-powered devices including the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Reports have indicated that the drive of Apple did not come cheap as it supposedly spent millions of dollars in its legal battles against the Android-powered devices.
The only real victory that Apple was able to achieve was the ruling by the International Trade Commission of the US where one of ten patents were reportedly violated by HTC (TPE:2498). However HTC will be able to work around the patent to minimize the effect of the ruling.
The planned purchase of Motorola (NYSE:MMI) by Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) will reportedly increase the patents that the latter will acquire, which will be beneficial to the Android-powered devices including the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
The legal battles will continue between Apple and the Android partners of Google until a significant decision is made on a ban of Android devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab, which would compel negotiations for cross-license agreements. But until such a decision is made, the lawsuits will continue to be filed all around the world.
