If latest reports are to be believed, a 15-inch MacBook Air may already be on its way to the product lineup of Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL). In fact the report has indicated that this model of the slimmest notebook offering of Apple may be unveiled in the coming month. The supposed source of the information on the 15-inch MacBook Air was supposedly a manufacturer of premium Mac accessories.
The company is supposedly a major player in the docking solutions for the MacBook although it has remained unnamed. The revelation on the 15-inch MacBook Air was supposedly made during the recent Computers Unlimited: Exposed event that was held in London.
The list of exhibitors has led observers to speculate that Henge Docks may be the source of the information for the report on the supposed release of a 15-inch MacBook Air.
However some industry watchers have raised doubts on the accuracy of the report on the 15-inch MacBook Air since accessory manufacturers do not normally have any inside information on upcoming product offerings of Apple. This was evident with the iPhone 4S and the new iPad where some of the cases did not exactly match the product that they were supposed to be used on.
Earlier reports from TUAW and MacRumors have indicated that aside from the 15-inch MacBook Air, a 17-inch MacBook Air may also be released by Apple. TUAW even indicated that these new models of the device will be released for the holiday season last year. DigiTimes also revealed that a 15-inch MacBook Air will be released by Apple during the first quarter of 2012.
The latest report is similar to another report last month where the 15-inch MacBook Air along with the 17-inch MacBook Air will take the place of the MacBook Pro devices of Apple. The last time the MacBook Air was refurbished by Apple was in 2010 while the MacBook Pro was last refurbished in 2008.
