The first batch of tablets that will be delivered by June is supposed to be 600,000 units. However it should be noted that the source of the report has had a history of errors when it came to the release of upcoming products so there is a possibility that the supposed July release of the Google Nexus tablet may also not come true. But with the upcoming I/O event of Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) that is set to be held in June, it is quite possible that the company will make an official announcement in connection to the upcoming Google Nexus tablet.

Google Inc
Previous reports have given indications that preparations were being made by Google for the company to sell the Google Nexus tablet direct to its customers and some of the tablet units will feature the name of Google.
Google had earlier sold the Google Nexus One direct to the consumers although this direct selling by the company did not last long.
An unlocked version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is currently being sold directly by Google at $399.
Asus is reportedly manufacturing the first set of Google Nexus tablets although reports have hinted at the possibility that Samsung will manufacture another similar device. Both companies manufacture the Chromebook of Google, which does not surprise some industry watchers that Asus and Samsung were selected to manufacture the Google Nexus tablets.
Selecting Asus as the manufacturer of the Google Nexus tablet is also a practical choice for Google since the company is considered among the best in terms of customer service for Android-powered devices.
