A number of reports have emerged on the upcoming Google Nexus tablet recently and among the more recent reports have hinted at the possibility that the upcoming device will feature the Jelly Bean Android or the Android 5.0 OS. The Google Nexus tablet is expected to be introduced during the upcoming I/O conference of Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) that is scheduled to be held from June 27 to June 29. All participants in the event will reportedly receive a developer unit of the device with the upcoming Android 5.0 OS.
However the developer unit with the pre-installed version of the Jelly Bean Android or the Android 5.0 OS will not automatically mean that the tablet will come with the upcoming version of the Android OS when it will be released into the market.

Android 5.0
Some industry watchers have indicated that introducing the Android 5.0 OS together with the Google Nexus tablet may result to additional delays.
Reports have indicated that Google postponed an earlier introduction of the tablet in order to bring down its price to a more affordable level or around the same price as that of the Amazon Kindle Fire.
Although reports on the Android 5.0 OS remain uncertain, the latest reports appear to be consistent with earlier revelations that Asus (TPE:2357) and Google will be introducing a tablet during the upcoming I/O conference of Google in June. These earlier reports have given indications that the upcoming device will be the Google Nexus tablet.
Apparently HTC was selected by Google to produce the upcoming device that may possibly come with the Jelly Bean Android or the Android 5.0 OS over two other manufacturers, Acer (TPE:2353) and HTC (TPE:2498). In addition to the Android 5.0 OS, the upcoming tablet will reportedly feature a seven-inch display along with a quad-core Tegra 3 processor from Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA).
For the moment Asus and Google have yet to make an official statement in connection to the reports about the upcoming Google Nexus tablet as well as the possibility that it will come with the Jelly Bean Android or the Android 5.0 OS.
