Release Preview of Windows 8 Expected in June

Recent reports have given indications that the release preview for the Windows 8 OS may be released soon by Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT). A release preview is commonly considered as the last version prior to the final version of a product and the upcoming Windows 8 OS is expected to be released sometime in fall.

According to reports the release preview of the Windows OS is expected to be released by Microsoft in the early part of June. This was announced recently by the software giant. Steven Sinofsky, the president of Microsoft, made the announcement during the Windows 8 Dev Days event in Japan.

Sinofsky also made the same announcement through the Build Windows 8 Twitter feed. A release preview comes after the beta stage and is considered to be the last version before the product is released into the market. The consumer preview or the beta version of the Windows 8 OS was released last February 29.

Latest reports have indicated that the final version of the Windows 8 operating system will be released by Microsoft this coming October.

The upcoming version of the operating system of Microsoft is considered as a major test for the company since it is reportedly designed to combine the flagship OS of the software giant on tablets and desktop devices. The upcoming operating system will reportedly be the most integrated OS of Microsoft and is also considered its most capable version of the Windows OS.

The Windows 8 OS was also designed to allow it to be used on ARM chips aside from the x86 chops that are normally used on more conventional PCs. The Windows 8 SKU offerings were announced by officials of Microsoft around a week ago. The announcement revealed some of the features that will come with the latest version of the Windows operating system of Microsoft.
