Latest reports have revealed that the production of the display screen that will be used on the Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad 3 is starting strongly prior to its official launch by the company.These reports follow earlier reports that hinted at the start of the production of the next variation of the iPad of Apple. The iPad 3 will reportedly feature a better processor and may support LTE technology.
According to the reports, around seven million units of the QXGA panels measuring 9.7 inches that is going to be used on the iPad 3 will be produced in the next two months of so. Production of the display for the iPad 3 will reportedly increase to around ten million by the second quarter.
The report also revealed that the number of displays for the iPad 2 was reduced from around ten million last year to around eight million during the first part of 2012.
This would indicate that the number of high resolution display produced for the second quarter will be bigger compared to the ones used on the existing model. Despite this increase in production of the displays for the iPad 3, the iPad 2 will still remain in the market.
Earlier reports have pointed to the possibility that the iPad 2 will still be available even with the release of the iPad 3. With the next variation of the iPad, the tablet lineup of the company will be expanded to three.
The most recent reports did not talk about the possibility that Samsung and LG will be producing the screen for the iPad 3, which will come with a resolution of 2048 x 1536.
Reports have pointed to a March release of the iPad 3 and will reportedly feature a better display along with better components. Earlier reports have hinted at a 4G LTE chipset for the device which would provide users with the option to utilize the networks of some mobile service providers.
