Recent reports shown that Sprint’s (NYSE:S) version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 is now available at under $100. This reduced price will already include the Android 4.0 OS. This makes the Samsung Galaxy S 2 another high-end handset to have its price reduced.
Reports have indicated that Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy S2 is being offered at around $80 at Amazon, which is a reduction of over $100 from the price quoted earlier by the service provider for the device.
This reduced price for the device will require the typical two-year service contract with Sprint. The new price tag for the Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy S 2 also does not include the monthly fee for a data plan.
A statement issued by Samsung last year indicated that the company will update the operating system of the international version of the Samsung Galaxy S 2 that has a physical button into the latest version or the Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0. It will also include the TouchWiz user interface.
However it appears that no statements were issued in connection to the Sprint version of the smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 o the Epic 4G Touch of Sprint was among the most widely-used smartphones that the service provider offered in the market. This is due to the dual-core 1.2GHz Exynos processor of the smartphone along with the 1GB RAM, Super AMOLED Plus display measuring 4.5 inches and a resolution of 480 by 800.
The Sprint version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 also features an eight-megapixel primary camera at the back and a two-megapixel camera in front.
Aside from the news on the price reduction for the Sprint version of the Samsung Galaxy S2, reports have also revealed that the service provider will offer its version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the first smartphone to come with the Android 4.0 and the first Sprint Android-powered smartphone that comes with Long Term or LTE connectivity.
