HTC Edge may be launched by HTC (TPE:2498) in the coming weeks together with a number of smartphones that feature quad-cores. These upcoming smartphones including the HTC Edge may be unveiled by HTC during the Mobile World Congress, which is a huge mobile trade event that will be held in Barcelona this coming February 27.
The reports have cited a JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM) analyst, who had reportedly brought up the MSM 8906 processor of Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) that reportedly has LTE capabilities and the Tegra 3 processor of Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) in a discussion with the Commercial Times.
A number of images and features of the HTC Edge were leaked earlier. The HTC Edge will reportedly utilize the Tegra 3 processor of Nvidia, which gave indications that the device may make its first official appearance near the end of the coming month.
Aside from the quad-core, the HTC Edge will reportedly feature a 4.7-inch screen with a 720p resolution along with an eight-megapixel camera. It may also be possible for the device to be renamed as the HTC Supreme, which will be used in order to provide the device some protection in the European market.
Even as reports have hinted at the possible launch of the HTC Edge in the coming month, some industry watchers are speculating of the possible smartphones that will feature the Qualcomm processor. However some observers have indicated that it may be possible for these devices to be offered in the US market only and may not make an appearance in the UK market.
It also remains uncertain if the HTC Edge will be offered in the market as some users were hopeful for the device to be introduced during the Consumer Electronics Show. However with recent reports, it appears that the market will have to wait for a few more weeks.
