Patent Dispute May Have Affected HTC Amaze 4G Inventory

HTC (TPE:2498) had infringed on an Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) patent last year by the International Trade Commission or the ITC, which has resulted to the banning of a number of HTC devices. The patent dispute between HTC and Apple is already affecting the supply of another HTC device in the US market, the HTC Amaze 4G. The HTC EVO 4G LTE and the HTC One X are two of the HTC smartphones that were held by US Customs in connection to the legal dispute between the two companies. Reports have also indicated that the supply of the HTC Amaze 4G of T-Mobile is already running low.The short supply of the HTC Amaze 4G may be linked to the patent dispute that has been going on recently between Apple and HTC. T-Mobile has also released a letter to its customers in connection to the limited supply of the HTC device.

The letter indicated that the company is informing buyers of the HTC Amaze 4G that their order was delayed because of an unanticipated problem with the delivery of the HTC Amaze from the smartphone manufacturer. The company also does not give any estimated date of delivery since the mobile service provider does not know when the supply of the HTC Amaze 4G will become available.

However T-Mobile has reportedly given an alternative to the HTC Amaze 4G for users who may want to purchase it. The alternative device that the company has recommended is the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G although the company will deliver the HTC Amaze 4G once it becomes available if the customers would not want any other device.

Some industry watchers were surprised by T-Mobile recommended the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G since its features are not up to par with the HTC Amaze 4G.

The HTC Amaze 4G features a bigger display, bigger internal storage and higher resolution for the camera as compared to the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G.
