The price tag of the Samsung Galaxy Note was recently announced by the company as the device is set to be released through AT&T (NYSE:T) by February 19. The company revealed that the smartphone-tablet hybrid will be retailed at around $300.

Some observers have indicated that the high price for the Samsung Galaxy Note may disaffect a number of consumers who may have been waiting for the release of the official price of the device.

However it should also be noted that a good number of newly-released smartphones have a similar entry price tag.

Reports have also indicated that pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Note will be accepted by AT&T near the start of February. The device will come in carbon blue and ceramic white color options.

The Samsung Galaxy Note combines a tablet with a smartphone due to its large Super AMOLED display screen which measures 5.3 inches and has a resolution of 1280 x 800. This may be one of the reasons for the rather high price for the Samsung Galaxy Note which will also feature 4G LTE connectivity.

The Samsung Galaxy Note offered by AT&T will reportedly feature Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) chipset using a Snapdragon platform. It also features a dual-core 1.5GHz Scorpion processor, 1GB RAM and an internal storage of 16GB. The device will also come with a microSD memory card slot to expand the internal storage of the device.

The eight-megapixel camera of the Samsung Galaxy Note has the capability of recording 1080p videos while the two-megapixel camera facilitates video calling.

Another notable feature of the Samsung Galaxy Note is the S-pen of the device which facilitates the taking of screen shots on the device aside from its use in the mark up of documents as well as web pages. The Samsung Galaxy Note also has the capability of converting handwritten text into standard text.
