October Release Date for iPhone 5

Piper Jaffray Cos' analyst Mr. Gene Munster, previously expected that the iPhone 5 will be released in August. Clearly, it was not true so this time, the analyst said that the tech giant Apple Inc. will more likely release the iPhone 5 in the month of October. Moreover, it will have a new design and faster browsing speeds.

Munster wrote in a note that an October release is more likely due to problems encountered by Qualcomm Inc. The chipmaker company said that it cannot sufficiently supply the needed components that is anticipated to be integrated in the latest iPhone 5. Because of the supply limitations, plus the reports from Verizon Wireless that there was a decrease in the sales of the iPhone, the market share of Apple Inc. declined by 3.4 percent.

The bestselling device of Apple is the iPhone and it making up 53% of its overall fourth quarter sales during the previous year. There are no official announcements yet from Apple regarding the release date of the iPhone 5.

The release dates of previous products from Apple were correctly guessed by Munster. The analyst added in the note that Qualcomm's radio chips, which provide faster connection speeds, will be featured in the upcoming iPhone 5.

Last year, Apple introduced the current iPhone 4S in the month of October as well. The availability of this latest device must direct investors to increase their estimates for the financial results in quarter four of this year.

In terms of the features of the next iPhone 5, it will integrate 4G LTE wireless capabilities. This 4G LTE technology is being developed by carries like AT&T Inc. and Verizon Wireless. The technology will allow iPhone 5 users to use the device in much faster speeds even when doing tasks that are data heavy such as surfing the Internet, downloading files and watching videos.
