The HTC Vigor or what some observers have considered as the HTC Thunderbolt 2 has finally made an appearance through a number of leaked images.The leaked images show an HTC (TPE:2498) device that has a significantly large display and has the HTC Sense UI.
The four menu buttons near the bottom gives indications that it may not be utilizing the Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS. The HTC Thunderbolt 2 or the HTC Vigor has two cameras, one in front and one at the back which has a red border around it and a dual-LED flash. The HTC Thunderbolt 2 or the HTC Vigor also has a pair of microphones at the back, and grill speakers in front and at the back.
Earlier reports have speculated that the HTC Thunderbolt 2 or the HTC Vigor will reportedly feature a display measuring 4.3 inches and a resolution of 1280 by 720, 1.5GHz dual-core microprocessor, an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera and 2 megapixel front-facing camera. It will also utilize the HTC Sense UI and Gingerbread Android OS.
Reports also pointed out that it will have a similar size as the original HTC Thunderbolt smartphone. The leaked roadmap that was leaked earlier also showed that the smartphone will be made available by October 5, 2011 and will become the replacement of the HTC Thunderbolt.
The images show that the HTC Thunderbolt 2 or the HTC Vigor has an elegant curved design and a distinctive appearance that will make it stand out among the black-colored smartphones currently and soon-to-be-available in the market.
Some observers have also noticed that the HTC Thunderbolt 2 or the HTC Vigor looks like a smaller version of the Droid Incredible 2, which entered the market this year through Verizon (NYSE:VZ). Other have speculated that this may be the reported Droid Incredible HD if it will be including in the lineup of Verizon due to the red border on the camera lens at the back. Whether the HTC Vigor is really the HTC Thunderbolt 2 or the Droid Incredible HD remains to be seen.
