Prior to the start of this year’s Mobile World Congress a number of devices have already leaked into the net including an upcoming LG smartphone that features the Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS, the LG P700.
The LG P700 reportedly features a display screen that has a 640 by 480 pixel resolution, which may suggest that it is optimized for a landscape mode. This was pointed out by some industry watchers who have speculated that it may be similar to the Xperia Play, which is a dedicated mobile gaming handset.
Further speculations have hinted that LG may promote the LG P700 as a handset that is optimized for movie-viewing, which would account for the possible landscape optimization of the device. But this will remain as speculation until the LG P700 itself is finally unveiled during the MWC 2012.
Some observers have also speculated that the LG P700 may feature a physical QWERTY keyboard although this remains to be seen. Reports have also suggested that the upcoming smartphone will feature a dual core OMAP 4430 microprocessor along with a RAM of 1GB.
Apart from these reports, no other details were revealed on the other features that the LG P700 may come with when it is introduced by the company.
Reports have also indicated that LG is also set to introduce the LG P880 at the MWC together with the LG P700. The LG P880 will reportedly feature a 720p HD display screen, which is similar to that of the Sony Xperia S and Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The LG P880 is reportedly the working name for the LG X3.
The LG P880 is an Android-powered smartphone that will feature a 4.7-inch display screen, Tegra 3 processor, eight-megapixel camera and an internal storage of 16GB.
The LG P700 and the LG P880 are two devices that have piqued the interest of some observers. The accuracy of the speculations of these two devices from LG will be answered once the MWC finally starts on February 27.
