A document that reportedly came from Verizon which indicated the release date was the basis of the recent reports. The upcoming Motorola Droid Razr features a slim and sturdy design that makes it among the most-awaited smartphones this year.
Motorola reportedly confirmed that the operating system of the upcoming Motorola Droid Razr will be updated from the Gingerbread Android to the Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS. The device is also simply known as the Motorola Razr in the international market.
Apart from the release date of the upcoming Motorola Droid Razr, the leaked document reportedly hinted that the upcoming smartphone offering of Motorola will support the 4G Long Term Evolution or 4G LTE technology of Verizon.
The device will have a price tag of around $300 which requires a two-year service contract with Verizon. The off-contract price of the Motorola Droid Razr is at around $649 or the price that users will have to pay if they decide to opt out of the contract before it ends.
The upcoming Motorola Droid Razr is supposed to be splash or water resistant due to its corning Gorilla Glass protection and the Kevlar back coating. The upcoming Motorola Droid Razr will have a battery that is not removable and a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor from Texas Instruments (NYSE:TXN), 1GB RAM and a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display screen.
The upcoming Motorola Droid Razr will also feature a high definition camera in front as well as an 8MP rear-facing camera. The Droid branding of the upcoming Motorola Droid Razr will not be included in the devices that will be released in the European and Asian markets and it will feature the HSPA+ connectivity.
