A recent report on the iPhone 5 is saying that there is a possibility for it to be released by May and its production at Foxconn is ongoing. Although a May release does not seem to be logical, it is still a better claim than saying that the newest iPhone version will not be released until the Fall season of this year.
It is easy to make rumors about Apple products particularly the iPhone 5 since the company never tries to disprove them. However, knowing that the latest detail about the device's release date came from 9to5 Mac which supposedly has a reliable source from Foxconn, the information about the May release of the phone may be considered credible. In particular, the report suggests that the iPhone 5 will be ready for the usual WWDC launch in June instead of a Fall launch that occurred with the 4S.
Techblog supports the possibility of a May release of the iPhone 5. It reported that it has obtained news from Foxconn's staff saying that the newest version of the iPhone is already being prepared for manufacturing to coincide with a launch in May. The news further says that some special designs and models are already set in place indicating that Apple is about to choose the approved model.
There are those who do not believe this new rumor on iPhone 5's release date. Their reason is that launching the phone in May means passing up an opportunity to use the WWDC for its release venue. Another reason is that there is a possibility that Apple will release the iPhone 5 with the iOS 6 which is set to happen in June.
Despite rumors on the May launch, it seems that June will be the most feasible time that iPhone 5 will be released. Maybe if Apple is trying to make a totally brand new design, it will try to keep a 12 month gap between the releases of its iPhones. However, since iPhone 4 is already old and the 4S is just a refresh, it will be fitting for Apple to launch the newest iPhone 5 version soon.
Whether the iPhone 5 will be released in May, June or any other month, all these rumors will only be validated in the coming months as soon as Asian reports start discussing real stories about the production of the newest iPhone version.
