Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 became available in the market recently at a price tag of around $400, which is similar to the price of the iPad 2 of Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL). Industry watchers consider the build of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 to be excellent with its slim and light design. Despite its bigger size compared to the seven-inch version of the device, the ten-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is not uncomfortable to handle.The sides of the device does not feature any controls with most of it concentrated on the upper edge of the ten-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. The microSD memory card slot, headphone jack and IR blaster are also found on the upper edge of the device. The bottom of the ten-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 features the proprietary charging port and microphone of the device.

The device also features a pair of speakers found on the upper right and left edges of the screen display. Industry watchers consider this is a good location since it would reduce the likelihood of the user covering the speaker while using the device.

The display of the ten-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 has a resolution of 1280 by 800 although it may not be the best that the South Korean company has released into the market. But with the price tag of the device, it is quite understandable for the device to have this type of display.

In addition to the Android 4.0 operating system, the ten-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 features the TouchWiz customized user interface of Samsung. Some pre-loaded apps and widgets also come with the latest Samsung tablet. The device also comes with a 50GB DropBox storage subscription for one year.

However the pre-loaded content may affect the performance of the ten-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 since the frame rates appear sluggish while going through the different home screens.

With this limitation, the dual-core 1GHz processor of the ten-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 may not be worth its $400 price tag due to its occasional sluggish performance.

Some industry watchers may not consider the ten-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 impressive particularly with the availability of a seven-inch version that has similar features and a price of only $250. However the users themselves will have the final decision if they will purchase this Samsung device.
