Latest Reports on Screen Size of Upcoming iPhone 5

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is reportedly evaluating a pair of iPhones that feature a display measuring 3.95 inches. This is the most recent report in connection to the upcoming iPhone 5. The display on the upcoming iPhone 5 has received much of the attention among industry watchers as speculations have emerged that Apple will replace the 3.5-inch display size of the previous models of the device with a bigger display screen for the upcoming device.

Reports have pointed to the evaluation of two units of the device although only one unit will likely be released as the upcoming iPhone 5 of Apple. Both iPhone units feature a bigger display screen at 3.95 inches which is in contrast to earlier reports that hinted at a display screen size of 4 inches.

Although the upcoming iPhone 5 will feature the same width, the height of the upcoming device will be taller compared to the present model. This will result to an additional 176 pixels for the device bringing the resolution of the device to 640 by 1136 from the present 640 by 960 on the iPhone 4S.

Apple has yet to release a statement in connection to the upcoming iPhone 5 along with the possibility that it will feature a bigger screen size as hinted in recent reports connected to the upcoming device. An earlier report revealed that the company was supposedly acquiring four-inch display screens for the upcoming iPhone 5 while a website focused on Apple hinted at a taller screen for the upcoming device at around four inches.

Using a bigger display screen for the iPhone 5 will facilitate the customization of the iOS 6 by Apple, which is supposedly looking into another row of icons for the home screen of the mobile OS. Applications integrated into the device may also be modified to optimize the use of the bigger screen size.
