The latest netbook offering of Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ) was introduced recently by the company. The upcoming HP Mini 1104 will reportedly provide noteworthy enhancements on the performance of its applications and graphics using the latest Atom processor from Intel (NASDAQ:INTC).
The new netbook will feature a 10.1-inch display screen and the dual-core Atom N2600 processor of Intel. The processor of the new HP Mini 1104 was made available last December together with the Cedar Trail chips. The processor of the HP Mini 1104 was clocked at 1.6GHz and enhances the performance of the device without using much of the battery as it draws only 3.5 watts.

The netbook will also feature a six-cell battery which will provide a battery life of up to nine hours. The HP Mini 1104 will reportedly have a price tag of around $399.
Netbooks are the low cost alternative to laptops and offer users basic activities such as word processing and surfing the net although the latest chips from Intel allow users to play HD Blu-ray videos. The netbook is considered as the companion PC by HP. The HP Mini 1104 features a Secure Digital or SDXC memory card slot, 320GB HDD, 2GB RAM, and a webcam. The device weighs less than three pounds.
The introduction of the HP Mini 1104 comes as the competitors of the company have started to minimize their netbook offering due to the increasing interest in tablets which have affected the demand for these low-cost devices. Last December, Dell revealed that it was leaving the netbook market as it sold out it last stocks of the Inspiron Mini netbook.
However Intel has revealed that despite the drop in demand for the netbook in the United States and Western Europe, there is an increasing demand in other markets like China and India. The HP Mini 1104 will be available in the United States through the website of the company. The company has yet to announce the international release of the HP Mini 1104.
