Ivy Bridge Processor Coming to Sony Vaio S Series

Sony (NYSE:SNE) has become a part of a growing list of PC manufacturers to integrate the latest Core i-series processor of Intel (NASDAQ:INTC). According to reports, the Sony Vaio S Series will come with the quad-core version of the Ivy Bridge processor of Intel. For the moment the dual-core version of the Ivy Bridge processor has yet to be released into the market.

The previous versions of the Sony Vaio S series were meant to be slim and mobile even as it offers sufficient power to allow it to do just about anything the users would want to do. The latest version of the Sony Vaio S series with the Ivy Bridge processor is expected to offer the same functions to its users albeit with some enhancements on their components.

Some models of in the Sony Vaio S series may feature the lower-end versions of the Ivy Bridge processor although these were not officially announced by the company.

In addition to the reports of the upcoming integration of the Ivy Bridge processor to the Sony Vaio S series, reports have also indicated that a 15-inch and 17-inch models will be included on the Sony Vaio E-series of the company. The latest wrap-around design enhances the aesthetics of the device although it may be quite a load for users since the 13-inch model of the device already weighs more than two kilograms. The bigger versions of the device will feature a full HD display,

The graphics performance of the Sony Vaio S series will be enhanced compared to earlier models of the device with the use of the Ivy Bridge processor. For the moment the specific models of the Sony Vaio S series using the Ivy Bridge processor was indicated by the company.

The company has also yet to announce the possible pricing for the Sony Vaio S series devices that will come with the Ivy Bridge processor although they are expected to enter the market by June.
