It is important to note that the Taiwan-based company’s latest model of smartphone, the HTC One X, has received a lot of praise ever since its release in the beginning of the year, because of its revolutionary and innovative designs. Moreover, the One X itself achieved a 9.3 percent share of the smartphone sales as a whole.
Mostly because of the One X, HTC reported a market share of 36 percent in sales value during April, which is an increase by 16 percent compared to that of the previous month. Following that is Samsung with a market share of 25.1 percent. In terms of sales volume, HTC received a 37 percent share.

However, in terms of sales volume of WCDMA 3G smartphones, HTC got a market share of 30.2 percent, which exceeded that of Apple and Samsung. While Apple got a market share of 28.1 percent for the end of April, Samsung got a market share of 13.5 percent.
On the other hand, in terms of handset sales as a whole, which includes feature phones and smartphones, Samsung took the number one spot, getting a market share of 31.8 percent during April in Taiwan. Coming in second rank is HTC, getting a market share of 20.8 percent.
After seeing the One X as the company’s most popular smartphone in Taiwan for the month of April alone, the executives of HTC emphasized that they are very certain of getting strong sales growths by the end of May, just like it did in April. In addition, HTC is sure that it will keep the top spot as a smartphone manufacturer in Taiwan for quarter two and three of 2012.
