HTC One S Released by T-Mobile on April 25

T-Mobile is set to offer the HTC One S on April 25 at a price tag of around $200. This upcoming release of this HTC (TPE:2498) device comes as a number of customers of the mobile service provider have switched to its competitors that are offering the iPhone of Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) along with a number of Android-powered devices.

Some observers have indicated that the HTC One S may help T-Mobile stem the tide of switchers as it offers some features that may appeal to a number of Android-loving customers. The HTC One S was initially introduced during the Mobile World Congress that was held in Barcelona last February.

The upcoming entry into the smartphone lineup of T-Mobile will be the first Android 4.0-powered device for the service provider.

The HTC One S features a 4.3-inch AMOLED display, eight-megapixel camera, and Beats audio support.

Since T-Mobile does not have a 4G LTE network, the HTC One S will use the HSPA+ network of the service provider, which reportedly offers a download speed of around 42 Mbps. The upcoming HTC One S offering of T-Mobile will be the best smartphone offered by the service provider.

T-Mobile is the only major service provider in the US not to offer the iPhone of Apple and company executives have indicated that it may have affected the sales of the company with a number of its customers switching to the its competitors. The fourth quarter last year reportedly saw 526,000 customers leaving T-Mobile.

The network of T-Mobile also offers a different wireless spectrum band from the iPhone, which will limit the data speeds that customers who may use a SIM card from T-Mobile on an unlocked iPhone. Even as T-Mobile wants to include the iPhone on their lineup, it will depend on Apple whether the smartphone will be offered through the service provider.

Including the HTC One S on its lineup will allow T-Mobile to offer another option for potential subscribers to its network.

Even as the HTC One S is set to enter the lineup of T-Mobile, it appears that the Samsung Galaxy S3 may also be offered by the service provider once it enters the market.
