Contrast Between Samsung Galaxy S3 and Sony Experia P

Galaxy S3 of Samsung and Experia P of Sony are two of the latest in the smartphone market. The Galaxy S3 includes special features such as Smart Stay, Smart Alert, Direct Call, S Voice and Social Tag while the Experia P features the new display technology called the White Magic. The following is a comparison between these two smartphones.

In terms of display, the Galaxy S3 has a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen made of Corning Gorilla Glass 2 with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Moreover, it runs on TouchWiz 4.0 UI.

On the other hand, the Sony Experia P features a 4-inch scratch resistant touchscreen of the LED-backlit LCD capacitive type, which supports multi-touch functionality. Also, it features the Mobile Bravia and Timescape user interface. It is integrated with WhiteMagic technology, which allows for the brightest experience when viewing.

The processor of Galaxy S3 is a 1.4 GHz Cortex A9 four-core CPU with the chipset of the Exynos 4212 quad quality, and GPU of Mali 400MP. However, the Xperia P runs on 1 GHz Cortex A9 two-core processor with NovaThor U8500, as well as Mali 400MP GPU.

The two smartphones both feature an 8-megapixel rear camera, auto-focus with LED flash, and 1080p video recording. Galaxy S3 also has a 9-megapixel front camera while the Experia P includes a VGA front camera.

The Galaxy S3 is integrated with the latest operating system Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich while the Xperia P runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, which users can upgrade to the ICS.

While Galaxy S3 supports an internal storage of 16/32/64 GB and a microSD card slot up to a maximum of 64 GB, Xperia P features internal storage of 16GB and 1GB of RAM.

In terms of battery, Galaxy S3 features a massive Li-Ion 2100mAh battery. On the contrary, Xperia P has a Li-Ion battery of 1305mAh which lasts for a standby time of 470 hours on 2G and 475 hours on 3G. However, talk time lasts for six hours on 2G and five hours on 3G.
