Classic Lenovo ThinkPad Keyboard Replaced

It appears that the classic keyboard of the Lenovo ThinkPad laptops will be replaced in the future models of the device. The classic design of the keyboards of the laptop offerings of Lenovo (HKG:0992) is known to be practical for use among business users and has become among its main appeal among users. According to Lenovo, the keyboard for the upcoming models of the Lenovo ThinkPad laptop will feature a more modern design with flatter keys that have an inward curve that will offer comfort to the fingertips of the users.

A number of the laptops of Lenovo reportedly use the new keyboard design that will be used on upcoming models of the Lenovo ThinkPad. An image of the unreleased Lenovo ThinkPad X230 was leaked recently and it showed the AccuType keyboard that will be used on the future models of the device. The Lenovo ThinkPad W530 will also use the same keyboard as the one posted on the Lenovo forums. Prior to its use on the Lenovo ThinkPad laptops, the AccuType keyboard was used on the ThinkPad Edge series and the IdeaPad line of devices.

Some users of the ThinkPad of Lenovo have indicated that they were apprehensive with the replacement of the conventional keyboards for the laptop since the chicklet-style keyboards were not typing-friendly. However Lenovo indicated that the change in the design of the keyboard was a makeover for the device.

The corporate ID and design vice president of Lenovo, David Hill, indicated that the keyboard of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 is the ultimate keyboard. This comes as the company may be aware that it may be on the receiving end of some criticisms for changing the keyboard.

The design of the new keyboard for the Lenovo ThinkPad devices will reportedly be similar to the original keyboard while errors in typing will be reduced with the ergonomic contour of the keys.

Hill revealed that the new keyboard design for the Lenovo ThinkPad devices was based on detailed user testing where constant feedback was taken from every measured keystroke.
