Sales of the iPhone 4S of Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) will have resumed after it was postponed by Apple because of the huge demand for the device that resulted to the emergence of scalpers among the buyers of the popular device. A lottery system is being implemented for the online purchase of the iPhone 4S and deliveries will start on March 2.
It appears that the number of scalpers is going down with the new lottery system being implemented by the company and users who follow the buying policies will be able to receive the iPhone 4S units.
The delivery schedule will also improve since the inventory of iPhone 4S units has started to level up with the initial demand for the device. Although there are some instances when the delivery schedule may be around one month after the order for the iPhone 4S unit is made, this may not stop the users who want to purchase the device.
The delivery schedule for the latest version of the iPhone may vary with some instances the delivery is made on the March 2 release date itself. The complexity of the reservation system was designed to get the better of scalpers to prevent its resale for outrageous prices.
The system of Apple is only online for three hours every day and it will be necessary to utilize a valid ID issued by the government to sign up for the lottery. The same ID is used in purchasing the iPhone 4S later on.
Users who have registered for the lottery will receive a notification by 9PM if they are given the reservation for the iPhone 4S and are qualified to purchase the device through the stores of Apple. Users who receive the reservation will have the opportunity to purchase the iPhone 4S and walk-in clients will not be entertained.
No schedule were given by Apple on when the direct sales of the iPhone 4S in the stores of the company will start although it has given users some assurance with the start of the online sales for the device.
