TELUS Offers Canadians Access to Samsung Galaxy S3

Verizon to Offer Droid Razr in Blue for $149

Motorola is beginning to improve its smartphone line and it looks like it is making its way to battle its mobile market rivals. The initial information that came out said that Verizon Wireless will offer a Droid RAZR in blue color and that was confirmed by a photo seen by a source online. This was supported by the Verizon Network's spec sheet which shows that the Droid Razr will be offered very soon for a sale price of $149 under a new contract of two years.

The Motorola Droid Razr is presently offered by Verizon Wireless and was first released in November 2011. The blue colored Droid Razr will be joining other colored smartphones that is usually available only in black and white color together with the purple handset that was released recently.

The blue-colored Droid Razr is anticipated to have similar specs as the other colored Droid handsets. The specs include an internal memory of 16 GB and support for 4G LTE provided by Verizon Wireless. The date when the blue Razr will be launched has not been officially announced but sources say that it will be on the 17th of May 2012.

The Droid Razr is part of the long smartphone line with an impressive list of specs. These include a Super AMOLED display that is 4.3 inches in size with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels and 256 ppi pixel density. Its 1780 mAH battery provides the Droid Razr user an additional 4 hours of talk time to give a total of 12.5 hours. That is a talk time that is higher than any other smartphone that is presently available in the market.

The Droid Razr's processor is the two-core TI OMAP 4430 which comes with a RAM of 1 GB and a graphics processor. HTC Confirms Availability of One V Soon

The HTC One family is nearly complete. Just a few months after the launch of AT&T and T-Mobile of the One X and the One S respectively, the Taiwan-electronics manufacturer just gave a confirmation that the One V will start to become available in several carriers in the United States by the summer season this year.

When the HTC One V was first unveiled in February, MetroPCS, U.S. Cellular and Virgin Mobile was named by HTC as its partners for the handset. As a way to confirm the partnership, HTC's website included a support page. Another press release of HTC stipulates C Spire, Bluegrass Cellular and Open Mobile as its possible HTC One series' partners. All of those are regional carriers.

The HTC One V is the model in the One series with the lowest price rendering it as the most affordable One handset. It is made for wireless carriers that do not subsidize their phones as much as the major ones. It is not as elegant just like the One S and One X because of its big chin in the bottom that is angled to the users face to enhance voice quality.

The HTC One V has specs that are somehow at the lower end compared to the One S and One X. In particular, it has a camera of 5 instead of 8 megapixels, a one-core processor with 1GHz power rather than a two-core chip and a screen of 3.7 inches with a resolution of 800x480.

Despite of its low end features, it runs on the latest Android OS which is the ICS. It also has the image enhancement technology of the HTC Image Sense as well as the Beats Audio.

The phones of the HTC One line have been getting good reviews. No specific announcement has been made about the One V's release date or cost but is expected to be around $200 to $300 under Virgin Mobile and MetroPCS or $100 or below on U.S. Cellular.

Sprint to Offer Samsung Galaxy Nexus

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus was initially unveiled late last year as it became the first device to come with the Android 4.0 operating system of Google (NASDAQ:GOOG). It was initially offered through Verizon (NYSE:VZ) as industry watchers expected the device to be offered by other major US mobile service providers soon after its entry into the market.

However it took some time before the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was offered by other major mobile service providers in the US. Recent reports have indicated that Sprint (NYSE:S) is set to offer the Samsung Galaxy Nexus as it promotes its LTE network among potential US users.

The Sprint version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will reportedly be similar to the Verizon version of the device. Sprint is also expected to utilize the near field communications or NFC capability of the device to offer access to the Google Wallet service to the users of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will offer another option for Sprint customers once the 4G LTE network of the mobile wireless provider is finally launched. The device is priced at around $200 with a two-year service contract with the company.

However the device is also being offered online at cheaper price compared to the price tag offered by Sprint. Users may be able to find the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus at a price of around $150 with the two-year service contract, which is cheaper by $50 compared to purchasing it through Sprint.

The Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus will offer the same chipset that is found on the Verizon version of the device. It also has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and a 32GB internal memory that is unfortunately not expandable. The device also features a 4.65-inch screen that has a resolution of 1280 by 720 and a 5MP camera at the back.

May 17 Release of Blue Motorola Droid Razr

A blue-colored version of the Motorola Droid Razr was announced recently by Verizon (NYSE:VZ). Information about the blue color option for the Motorola Droid Razr was initially leaked earlier and was confirmed through an image that was supposed to have a price tag of around $149 with the standard two-year service contract through Verizon.

The Motorola Droid Razr was initially released into the market last November and the upcoming color option for this particular smartphone from Motorola (NYSE:MMI) will become one of the options that consumers will be able to choose from if they will purchase the device.

The blue-colored version of this Motorola smartphone will have the same features as the other color options of the device. The blue Motorola Droid Razr will reportedly become available in the market by May 17 and it will support the 4G LTE network of Verizon.

This color option for the device is currently available in black, purple and white. Although online orders for the blue Motorola Droid Razr will start on May 17, reports have indicated that it is already available in a number of selected retail outlets in the United States.

The Motorola Droid Razr features a Super AMOLED screen measuring 4.3 inches and has a resolution of 540 by 960. The device also offers around 12.5 hours of talk time, which is higher compared to the smartphones currently available in the market. The device also features a dual-core processor with a graphics processor and 1GB RAM.

The internal memory of the Motorola Droid Razr is at 16GB although it can be expanded through a microSD or a microSDHC memory card to increase its storage to 32GB. The 8MP camera of the Motorola Droid Razr features an f2.4 lens, LED flash, auto-focus feature and the capability of recording 1080p videos.

The blue Motorola Droid Razr will have a price tag of around $100 after a rebate of $50 for the Mother’s Day celebration.

ZTE Nova Smartphone Features and Release Date

Cricket Wireless is one of the small wireless operators in America. This summer, Cricket will launch the Nova 4.0 V8000, a ZTE smartphone that will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Some of the features of the Nova 4.0 V8000 include a 1.4 GHz one core Snapdragon processor of Qualcomm, a RAM of 1 GB RAM, a camera of 8 megapixels, a screen display of 4-inches with a pixel resolution of 800 x 480 and a battery of 1,900 mAh.

Although there is still no news about the actual price of the new smartphone, PhoneArena believes that it will cost lesser than $300 unsubsidized. In addition, Nova is integrated with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Unfortunately, it still uses a similar set of four capacitive buttons that have been used ever since the release of gadgets that run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Many look forward to seeing an unlocked GSM model of Nova. When taken as a whole, the Nova is almost like the Nexus S smartphone of Samsung, but the difference is that the Nova has a higher quality camera and a high capacity battery power.

However, it does not necessarily imply something because the price of the unsubsidized and unlocked version of the Galaxy Nexus S is $399. When a Straight Talk SIM card is inserted to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus S, users are given unlimited promos for everything and it only costs $45 on a monthly basis. What's more interesting is the fact that other consumers pay twice as much for their phones.

In terms of the status of the North American prepaid market, it is not big as much as others. Although it is without a doubt developing, most of the consumers basically sign two-year contracts, pay a small amount or sometimes even nothing, and then spend more than $100 every month for a service plan that they might either use or not use. Apple IPad Mini May Be on Its Way

A Barclays (NYSE:BCS) analyst recently revealed that the seven-inch iPad mini may already be on its way to the market. According to Ben Reitzes, an analyst with Barclays revealed through a research note that the global research team of the company has seen indications that the iPad mini may already be in the supply chain as the company is confident that the seven-inch version of the iPad will be included in the lineup of Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL).

Reitzes added that the company will not be surprised if the iPad mini will become one of the entries in the iPod Touch category of the company if it will be released into the market.

However the company has not included the iPad mini in its sales forecast due to come uncertainty on the release of the iPad mini although Apple sales have continued to be strong due to its current iPad offering. Sales of the iPad will remain solid in the upcoming quarters even as the next iPhone is set to be released soon.

Sales of the iPhone went down in September following anticipation among consumers for the iPhone 4S which was unveiled last October. Reitzes also indicated that PC sales will continue to decrease due to the iPad and it may not be necessary for Apple to release a hybrid version of the MacBook since users of the iPad will continue to use a detachable keyboard for their devices.

Reports of the iPad mini have emerged earlier following the success of the Amazon Kindle Fire in the market. These reports concentrated mainly on a smaller version of the iPad. Another report also speculated on the possibility that the iPad mini will be released into the market by August of this year.

However Apple has taken its usual stance of not giving any statements on the reports about the supposed iPad mini. For the moment no other information was released in connection to these reports.

A New Android 4.0 Device: LG Optimus L7 Released into the Market

A new Android 4.0 device was released into the UK market recently, the LG Optimus L7. Although the LG Optimus L7 will feature a 4.3-inch screen and the latest Android OS from Google (NASDAQ:GOOG), it will have to deal with the upcoming release of the Samsung Galaxy SIII, which was unveiled recently during an event held in London.

The design of the latest smartphone from LG was considered sleek and appealing by some observers following its introduction during the Mobile World Congress that was held in Barcelona. The Android 4.0 or the Ice Cream Sandwich Android of the LG Optimus L7 may also appeal to users that are looking for a device that offers the latest version of the Android OS.

However it appears that the LG Optimus L7 will have to deal with recent smartphone offerings that offer more power than what the device can offer.

The 1GHz single-core processor of the LG Optimus L7 is not quite comparable to the 1.4GHz quad-core processor that is offered by the Samsung Galaxy SIII.

However if users are content with a modest processor for the device that they want to own and are not looking for a device that facilitates playing graphics-intensive games. The LG Optimus L7 will be a suitable selection for such consumers who do not normally use their devices for memory-intensive tasks.

However it should also be important to take note that the processor of the LG Optimus L7 may lack the power to handle any updates for the Android operating system. This may be a significant factor for users who may not want to change smartphones whenever a new Android update will be released by Google.

The LG Optimus L7 also comes with a five-megapixel camera and is also only 8.7 millimeters thick, which is similar to the thickness of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy SIII.

HTC One X of AT&T Enters the Market

AT&T (NYSE:T) has finally released the HTC One X into the United States market at a price tag of around $199. The HTC One X features a 4.7-inch display screen, eight-megapixel camera, and 4G LTE network support. The settings of the camera of the recently-released device from HTC (TPE:2498) are quite complete as it offers some standard features in addition to more advanced features that may not be found in the cameras of other devices.

Among the standard features on the camera of the HTC One X of AT&T include an auto smile capture, face detection and panorama features. The more advanced features that owners of the device can use include slow-motion capture, continuous shooting, and an HDR mode.

The HTC One X was initially unveiled during the Mobile World Congress and is currently available for consumers in the US market.

The release of the latest smartphone product from HTC has changed the smartphone lineup of AT&T as the HTC One X has become the flagship of the HTC One line of devices of the mobile service provider. The mobile service provider also carries the HTC One S on its smartphone lineup.

However some industry watchers consider the HTC One X of AT&T similar to other Android-powered smartphones although it uses the Android 4.0 operating system or the Ice Cream Sandwich Android. This was the view of some industry watchers even as the device features a 4.7-inch display, powerful camera and 4G LTE network support.

However the HTC One X does not come with a quad-core processor. Among the smartphones that the HTC One X will have to deal with are the recently-unveiled Samsung Galaxy SIII and the current version of the iPhone of Apple, the iPhone 4S.

The iPhone 5 will be another competitor that the HTC One X will have to deal with when it is launched by Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) before the end of the year.

Samsung Announced Galaxy S3 Availability in Asian Markets

Finally the most awaited announcement has been made by the number one smartphone manufacturing company, Samsung. The release of the Samsung Galaxy S3, the most anticipated smartphone to date, has been announced this week in London. The super Android phone is set to be released in three lucky Asian countries in June which are Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

Indonesia is home to many avid Samsung users as its smartphones and tablets are widely used by Indonesians. According to FabiantKayatmo of Samsung Mobile Indonesia, Galaxy S3 will be released in the country possibly by June at the same time as its availability in the United States and other Asian nations. The store that will be selling this marvelous phone is Big Durian.

Samsung holds sixty percent of the shares of Malaysia's smartphone industry that is why the mobile company ranks first in the country. Lee Jui Sang the director of the regional mobile business in Southeast Asia assured that Galaxy S3 will be invading the Malaysian market in the early month of June.
