Battery Drain Issues Still Evident on IOS 5.1 Update

It appears that the same battery drain problem is still affecting a number of users of iOS devices despite the latest iOS 5.1 of Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL). However it is not the same with other users who have revealed that the iOS 5.1 has allowed them to have a better battery life on their devices.

The Support Communities of Apple hinted that some users experienced an enhancement in the battery life of their devices while some have indicated that they noticed that the problem may have worsened with the iOS 5.1. Some posted comments revealed that the iOS 5.1 offered some significant enhancement on the battery life of their devices due to the iOS update.

However on iOS user revealed that the battery drain was faster following the installation of the update as the charge went down to 20 percent within two hours even though the device was not being used. Another user noted a fifteen percent drain per hour following the update.

Another forum has revealed a number of users who were satisfied with the iOS 5.1 update with one user indicating that the most recent update was a major fix. Some users also indicated that the battery drain was typical of their iPhone 4S unit.

Despite these positive reactions the same forum also revealed a number of negative reactions to the iOS 5.1 update. One user indicated that a 25 percent battery drain was noted after using the device more one hour and thirty minutes although this was better compared to before the update was installed.

Another user noticed a drop in the battery life following the iOS 5.1 update of nearly twenty percent. Tweets also revealed that the battery life on some iOS devices have improved following the update. Some users also did not recommended updating their devices since the battery drain was worse compared to prior the installation of the iOS 5.1.

Despite all of these comments in forums and the tweets, some industry watchers have not given their judgment on the effect of the iOS 5.1 update since there were mixed reactions to the update.
