Asus, the Taiwanese device manufacturer, has once again rejected claims that its hybrid Transformer Prime tablet is having hardware problems. The company expressed this as a response to Clove, an online retailer that removed the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) running Transform Prime from its website. A recent statement of Clove claims that it has discovered several issues with the GPS and Wifi features of the tablet. Because of that, it was not willing to release the device to the consumers who ordered earlier.
According to Clove, they have already performed several random tests on their Transformer Prime supplies. During the test, the main features that they considered were the WiFi and GPS.
Earlier, Asus acknowledged the possibility that the metal casing of the Transformer Prime may have an effect on the tablet’s GPS signal. Because of this, the company decided not to make it a part of the product's specifications sheet. After which, it announced that the tablet never had issues with its WiFi capabilities but customers who are not satisfied can claim a 100% refund for their device.
As a response to the findings of Clove, Asus expressed that the company is unaware of any problems with the Transformer Prime's quality. It emphasized that it has already performed extensive tests on the tablet in laboratory setting and the device is functioning according to expectations in all aspects and according to all needed parameters.
The company further adds that it ensures that all its products are tested rigorously so that the best quality is achieved at all times. As such, it refutes whatever claim third parties have with regards to the quality of its products.
Clove needs to wait for quite some time for the arrival of the supply of Transformer Prime’s competitor which is Apple’s iPad 2. Asus said that shortages in supply have been down to great demand for the Transformer Prime, its second generation hybrid tablet.
