April 8 Release Date for Nokia Lumia 900 Confirmed

The upcoming Nokia Lumia 900 will be available in the market by April 8. This was confirmed recently by AT&T (NYSE:T) as both Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Nokia (NYSE:NOK) are aiming to make a breakthrough into the United States with the upcoming Windows Phone device.

The upcoming release of the Nokia Lumia 900 into the US market is important for Nokia as it tries to make a comeback into one of the biggest smartphone markets in the world. The Nokia Lumia 900 will be priced at $100, which will require a two-year contract.

The price tag of the upcoming Nokia Lumia 900 will be the cheapest flagship product that AT&T will make available in the market.

Despite its earlier dominance of the handset market in previous years, Nokia has been struggling to cope up with its rivals, which have taken much of the market share of Nokia in recent years. On the other hand, AT&T is also banking on the Nokia Lumia 900 to increase awareness for its recently-established 4G LTE network.

Microsoft also has a lot at stake with the upcoming Nokia Lumia 900 since it will allow the Windows Phone OS to gain the respect of the market, which has been dominated by the iOS of Apple and Android OS of Google in recent years.

The Nokia Lumia 900 will have to overcome the obstacles that faced earlier Windows Phone devices as it attempts to encourage consumers to look at the mobile OS of Microsoft as a suitable option to the iOS and Android OS. Both operating systems are currently dominating the market in recent years.

The Nokia Lumia 710 is already being offered in the US however it does not have the high-end features that the Nokia Lumia 900 will bring into the market. Despite its good performance in the market, the Nokia Lumia 710 is not a runaway hit for the company.

The upcoming Nokia Lumia 900 will feature a ClearBlack AMOLED 4.3-inch display screen, eight-megapixel camera featuring a Carl Zeiss lens, 1.4GHz processor, 512MB RAM, and 16GB internal storage. The upcoming Windows Phone device will be available in cyan blue and matte black.

The white-colored option for the Nokia Lumia 900 will reportedly be released by April 22.
