For quite some time, Apple was the leader in terms of providing gadgets to the consumers. The iPhone was a definite success and an innovation for the industry of mobile phones. At the same time, the iPod has become one of the most prominent gadgets of the 21st Century.

However, the iPod's fame is gradually fading partly because of the success of the iPhone, which is like the iPod except that it has the capacity to make calls. As for the case of the iPhone, competition was marked with the advent of Android gadgets.

Yet there is a field where Apple still holds the highest rank among other manufacturers. This is the market for tablets. At present, Apple still maintains the number one spot as the leader in the tablet market with its iPad.

Apple's tablets have shortcomings that have urged some consumers to use Galaxy Tab or Playbook, some of which include its cost and its failure to run Flash. Because of this, Apple has some strategies in order to maintain its highest rank in the tablet market when it releases its iPad 3 soon.

Its first strategy is to be the first in the market. Apple loves being the first to introduce a gadget to the public because this means all other gadgets will be put side by side with it. Speculations spread that the iPad 3 will be released this February, on Steve Jobs' birthday, but there is still no proof to this.

Secondly, it will keep its current high ranking by having the best processor. A number of reports say that the iPad 3 will be using an A6 quad-core processor, thus making it the quickest iOS gadget to date. Rumor has it that other tablets will also be using the same type of processor but it will most certainly be on Apple's iPad 3.

Finally, sepculations abound that the tablet will be the more affordable. This is absolutely not assured, but there might be a very slight decrease in the cost of the latest iPad. Apple might consider making the iPad 3 easy on the pocket of the consumers since Kindle Fire was released with a low price.
