Apple IPad Still Profitable Compared to MacBook Pro 2012

The tablet market is more profitable for Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) compared to the personal computer market according to an analyst. Reports have hinted that the supposed MacBook Pro 2012 may be introduced by Apple into the market soon. The reported MacBook Pro 2012 will supposedly feature the latest Mac OS X version, the Mountain Lion 10.8, which is reportedly similar to the iOS mobile platform of Apple.

Among the features that will reportedly be included on the upcoming version of the OS that may be included on the upcoming MacBook Pro 2012 are the Game Center, Notification Center and Airplay Mirroring. According to industry watchers the latest OS X may take advantage of the popularity of the iOS in order to make it more appealing to potential buyers.

The iPad offered more profit for Apple according to Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray. This statement may be based on the solid demand for the iPad of Apple particularly with the release of its latest model that feature LTE network support, retina display and a new processor.

Apparently Apple is trying to modify the ecosystem of the Mac OS X as it attempts to use the same strategy it uses for the iPad to look after the growth of the MacBook Pro. The company launched the app store for the Mac to give users the opportunity to order and download apps for their devices.

Reports have indicated that the latest computer ecosystem will be introduced by the company together with the MacBook Pro 2012. The new computer ecosystem will fully use the internet in sending and receiving data. The MacBook Pro 2012 will also feature a similar design as the MacBook Air as it will not have an optical drive.

The reported MacBook Pro 2012 will also have a wedge-like design which will increase the portability of the device. The use of the Mac App Store will increase if the upcoming MacBook Pro 2012 will not come with the optical drive, which will increase the revenue of the company.

However Munster indicated that the iPad will offer more profit for Apple compared to the reported MacBook Pro 2012 since it features LTE support that offers faster downloads of content compared to home broadband connections.
