It appears that the Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad 3 may not be the only device that Apple enthusiast will have to look out for in the next few months. Reports have hinted that an enhanced MacBook Pro may be introduced in the next quarter following the release of the next variation of the iPad of Apple.
The iPad 3 will reportedly feature a high resolution display or a “Retina” display which will have additional pixel per inch. With the “retina” display, the iPad 3 will have a minimum of 326 pixels per inch, which is the same pixel density found on the 3.4-inch display of the iPhone 4S.
In addition to the iPad 3 reports have also hinted at a possible release of a new version of the MacBook Pro by the coming quarter or sometime between April and June. This version of the MacBook Pro will reportedly feature a Retina display as well.
The report was reportedly due to the latest HiDPI resolution on the OS X Lion which hint at the possible Retina Display for the next MacBook Pro. Reports have also indicated that the upcoming device will feature a resolution of 2880 by 1800 and it will be available by the second quarter at the earliest following the supposed release of the iPad 3.
Some industry watchers have speculated that the supposed high resolution laptop may be used in the strategy of Apple to go up against the upcoming Windows 8, which will reportedly be released this year.
Reports have also indicated that the iPad 3 will be released in the coming month and the upcoming Windows 8 OS will supposedly support tablets as well. The iPad 3 of Apple will also have to go up against the Ice Cream Sandwich Android-powered tablets that will be offered within the year.
Whether the iPad 3 and the next variation of the MacBook Pro will be released in the coming months remains to be seen.
The upcoming models of the MacBook Pro will be using the OS X Lion while the reported iPad 3 is expected to be released with the latest variation of the iOS operating system, the iOS 5.
