Pre-orders for the Amazon Kindle Fire has nearly reached the 100,000 unit level as it reach the top of the best-selling item list of a number of retailers recently. The Kindle Fire is also outselling three other models of the Amazon Kindle which were offered into the market recently. This comes even though the Kindle Fire is reportedly priced higher compared to the other devices offered by Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) as indicated by a marketing research company.
The number will reportedly be a record for an Android tablet for one-day sales. However even with this impressive number, it still is trailing behind the iPad of Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) which reportedly sold around 300,000 units on the first day it was available. The Amazon Kindle Fire numbers that were collated by the marketing research company, eDataSource, were reportedly based on the orders made on the website of Amazon. This was revealed by the CEO of the company, Carter Nicholas.
The Amazon Kindle Fire was introduced into the market recently and has a price tag of around $199. Most of the individuals who pre-ordered the device were reportedly early adopters of the Amazon Kindle Fire. Observers noted that with the discussions about the device, it may become one of the devices to watch out for in the future. The Amazon Kindle Fire will reportedly be shipped to the buyers by November 15.
Aside from the Amazon Kindle Fire, the company is also releasing three other models of the Amazon Kindle. The latest Amazon Kindle has a price tag of $79, the latest Kindle Touch is priced at $99, while the Kindle Touch 3G can be purchased at a price tag of $149. However the combined sales of these three other Kindle devices was only at around 25,000 units, which is less than half the pre-orders for the Amazon Kindle Fire.
Observers indicated that once early adopters have used their Amazon Kindle Fire units, the typical user will likely acquire one once they would read the reviews of the upcoming product from Amazon.
